Operation Red Nose, a holiday season designated driving service in which volunteers drive people’s car homes for them, is returning to The Battlefords in 2023.

THE BATTLEFORDS – Operation Red Nose is already working to prepare its 40th safe ride campaign and is looking for an organization involved with youth or amateur sports interested in hosting the safe ride service in the Battlefords, from Nov. 24 to Dec. 31.

"Not only will such an organization be able to offer financial support to their favourite local cause, but they will also be able to enjoy an experience that brings in a wealth of stories and memorable encounters, all while ensuring their fellow citizens a safe ride home." reads a June 13 release from the organization.

In addition to improving road safety by offering safe rides home during the holiday season, client donations are entirely kept by the host organization and used to support local youth or amateur sports initiatives.

"Each year, local host organizations across Canada raise close to two million dollars through client donations and local sponsors. These sums are then invested in their community."

To receive an application form, or for further information, organizations are invited to contact Marie-Chantal Fortin at [email protected] .

Organizations wishing to be certified must apply by July 15.
