REGINA — As winter fades and spring breathes new life into the city, Regina’s yearly street-sweeping endeavour is set to begin, signalling the revival of neighbourhoods and the clearing of debris-laden roads. The meticulous process, spanning over 10 weeks, will start its first phase on April 8, targeting 47 kilometres of boulevards and major streets, including prominent thoroughfares like Albert Street and Lewvan Drive.

In this initial phase, attention is directed towards higher-density areas such as Harbour Landing, General Hospital, Downtown, and Cathedral, where crews tirelessly work twenty hours a day, seven days a week to restore pristine conditions.

However, residents are cautioned to heed parking restrictions, as cars left in designated no-parking zones face a hefty $120 fine along with the inconvenience of towing. These zones are marked with signage to ensure compliance.

You can check out the Sweep & Plow App, which offers real-time updates on sweep schedules, with residents also being advised to exercise caution, closing windows to prevent dust from getting inside during sweeps and using alternative sidewalks when possible.
