REGINA — A 29-year-old female from Calgary is facing charges in relation to a hit and run that resulted in the death of a 25-year-old female.
On Dec. 2 at approximately 1 a.m., patrol officers were dispatched to a report of a sick/injured person in the 1100 block of Rae Street. When they arrived, they found a female lying on the ground at the entrance to an alley. EMS arrived on scene and transported the injured female victim to the hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries.
The driver of the suspect vehicle fled the scene. Investigation led officers to Calgary where the suspect was arrested on Dec. 22. The 29-year-old woman is charged with failure to stop after an accident that results in death.
She made her first appearance on this charge in Regina Provincial Court Wednesday, Dec. 27.
