Cow moose shot and left near Four Corners

No big game season was open at the time and legal hunt time would have ended at 5:25 p.m.

On the morning of Dec. 9, a shot and left cow moose was located in an alfalfa field. Three shots had been heard the evening before.

FOUR CORNERS — Evidence at the scene of the shooting and waste of a cow moose in an area northwest of Meadow Lake has been collected and the case is being investigated.

On Dec. 8 between 5:30 p.m. and 5:40 p.m., three rifle shots were heard near a farm residence along Highway 4. No big game season was open at the time and legal hunt time would have ended at 5:25 p.m.

Shortly after the shots were heard, a vehicle was observed driving westbound on the Four Corners Grid in the Meadow Lake area. No plate number or vehicle description was obtained due to low light conditions. On the morning of Dec. 9, a shot and left cow moose was located in an alfalfa field on the west side of Highway 4.
