The Weyburn RCMP and emergency crews were called to a two-vehicle collision Tuesday night.

A group of individuals drove up to the man, discharged a firearm and struck him, then stole his vehicle.

Weyburn police have recovered stolen property from two separate cases in the last week, including with the RCMP on Nov. 29.

When they approached the vehicle with emergency lights engaged, the truck sped up and struck the police vehicle twice, disabling it.

The driver refused to stop and following a short pursuit, additional officers located the vehicle parked in a driveway in the 800 block of 3 Street East.

Corrections staff initiated life-saving measures and called EMS; EMS declared the man deceased at approximately 11:12 a.m.

Information received was that multiple individuals entered the residence, threatened and assaulted the victim and fired several shots with what was reported to be a BB gun inside the home.

There will be an increased police presence on White Bear First Nation for an undetermined amount of time.

Police responded, located a woman suffering from stab wounds and determined that it was related to the same incident.

Officers arrested 16 individuals – nine females and seven males – at the two residences; thirteen were later released without charges.
