LA RONGE – A trial for Jennifer Hendry’s accused killer didn’t proceed Monday in La Ronge Provincial Court and was adjourned to November.
A young offender, who can’t be identified in accordance with the Youth Criminal Justice Act, is charged with first-degree murder in Hendry’s death Jan. 8, 2022. Hendry’s body was found in her home on Waco Drive in Air Ronge.
The teen is also charged with robbery. Police say the youth and Hendry weren’t known to each other.
Hendry was well-known in the communities of Air Ronge and La Ronge where she lived for almost 20 years, first as an instructor at Northlands College, and more recently with the La Ronge RCMP and Saskatchewan Health Authority, according to her obituary.
