YORKTON – A group of thugs breaking into a home and robbing a man resulted in the victim being sent to hospital.
Police explain the attack began on May 10 when Yorkton RCMP received a report of a robbery on Myrtle Avenue.
“Investigation determined a group of individuals confined an adult male in a residence, where he was physically assaulted and robbed,” said RCMP in a media release. “He was able to leave the residence and call for assistance.”
A search warrant was executed on the home three days later, and police seized around 65 grams of drugs - mostly methamphetamine with small amounts of cocaine and fentanyl. They also found trafficking paraphernalia, and weapons including knives, a machete, a baton, and an imitation firearm.
“They also located and seized a number of tools, which investigation has determined were stolen during recent local break-ins,” RCMP said. “Two individuals were arrested at the residence.”
Ian Musqua, 34, and Kristi Kraft, 38, (both of Yorkton) are charged with forcible entry, robbery, possession for the purpose of trafficking (meth), possession (fentanyl), and possession of property obtained by crime.
Musqua is further charged with failure to comply with a probation order, and is scheduled to appear in Yorktown Provincial Court today.
Kraft is scheduled to appear at a later date, June 19.
Police are still looking for three other people involved in this incident, charging Troy Branconnier, 43, Austin Keshane, 36, (both of Yorkton) and Desmond Henry, 33, of Regina with forcible entry, robbery, and possession of property obtained by crime.
“Warrants have been issued for their arrests and Yorkton RCMP are working to locate them,” said RCMP.
Branconnier is described as being 6’ tall and 200 lbs with brown hair, brown eyes, and neck tattoos. Henry is 5’11” and 200 lbs, with brown hair, hazel eyes, and tattoos on his hands and arms. Keshane is about 6’3” and 250 lbs with black hair, which is sometimes shaved; brown eyes and tattoos near his ears and under his eye.
