PRINCE ALBERT - The observant actions of an off-duty Prince Albert Police Service officer Friday afternoon led to the arrests of two men who now face weapons and drug trafficking charges.
On April 26 at approximately 2:30 p.m., an off-duty officer observed a stolen vehicle involved in a previous evade police incident outside of a business in the 800 block of 15th Street East.
The off-duty officer reported the vehicle to police and officers responded to the scene.
Upon arrival, the officer located the vehicle and activated their emergency equipment; the vehicle came to a stop and the driver and passenger were both arrested for being in a stolen vehicle.
Shortly after, officers learned both males had outstanding warrants for their arrest.
A subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in the following seizures: two scales, suspected methamphetamine, An iPhone, and two imitation firearms.
Officers searched the two males at the Prince Albert Police Service Detention and located $1,400 Canadian currency.
As a result, a 22-year-old man and a 29-year-old man have been charged with possession of a weapon (x3), possession of the proceeds of crime over $5,000, and possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking.
