The trauma of Indian Residential Schools is still very real, said Musqua-Culbertson.

Mirasty said of course communities are aware of the legacy of Indian residential schools, and when gathering at events focusing on that it is also time 鈥渢o honour the survivors, and honour those who didn鈥檛 make it home from those institutions.鈥�

To help those affected heal the Yorkton Tribal Council hosted an 鈥業ndian Residential School Gathering鈥� in the city this week.

The story sort of closes the circle in terms of the author鈥檚 trilogy as it ties back to her initial book.
