On the first preliminary count of votes, Chan received 3361 votes compared to the NDP's 2128, the Sask United Party's 803, the Green Party's 131 and the Buffalo Party's 40. 

All 11 schools in Yorkton are participating in the annual food drive.

Jennifer Lindgren, said every year she is surprised how many youngsters are unsure of things a farmer takes for granted.
