It is hard to believe that several months have passed since the now infamous Haiti earthquake destroyed the lives of so many. On January 12, a 7.0-magnitude earthquake struck off the western coast of Haiti.

The Yorkton Tribal Council hosted a pair of important events. Friday events were held to mark Treaty Day, while Monday National Aboriginal Day was held on the longest day of the year. Events included traditional powwow dancing, and erecting a teepee.

Agriculture Minister Bob Bjornerud and Environment Minister Nancy Heppner have jointly proclaimed June 20 to 26 as Saskatchewan's 12th Annual Native Prairie Appreciation Week.
