Yorkton AAA 15U Cardinals win thrice on weekend

The Cardinals now sit with a record of 18-10, and fourth in the SPBL 15U AAA division.

YORKTON - The home field confines at Jubilee Park were good to the hometown Yorkton U15 AAA Cardinals Saturday.

The Cardinals hosted the Sask Five Giants for a doubleheader, winning both contests.

In game one Kyler Bilokreli hit a pair of homers to lead the Cardinals to a 4-3 win.

One of the Bilokreli homers came in the bottom of the sixth as Eli Beatty and Maddox Andres also went deep for the home side.

Nate Wandu was the winning pitcher for Yorkton, giving up three hits and three runs in six innings. Striking out nine and walking three.

In the second game of the day the Cardinal offence exploded scoring a baker’s dozen on 11 hits on the way to a 13-3 win.

Sawyer Sawchuk drove in five on two hits including a grand slam in the first inning to lead the Cardinals.

Judah Sarafincian earned the win on the mound for Yorkton, allowing two runs on two hits over four innings, while striking out four and walking four.

The Cardinals were back in action Sunday, this time in Regina for a doubleheader against the Regina AAA U15 Wolfpack.

In the opener the Cardinals managed only a single run in an 8-1 loss.

Liam Van Caeseele started and took the loss for Yorkton, allowing two runs and two hits in two innings work.

Maddox Andres had two hits for the Cardinals in three innings.

The Cardinals offence found its way in the bottom half of the doubleheader rolling to a 15-4 win.

Maddox Andres led the way for the Cardinal offence hitting two home runs and driving in four.

Hunter Keller started on the mound for Yorkton, with Kyler Bilokreli offering 4.2 innings of relief.
