YORKTON – Commemorative D-Day ceremonies were held at the city cemetery June 6.
The day marked 79 years since the Allied Normandy Invasion took place.
Members and veterans of General Alexander Ross Branch #77 thanked those in attendance for their presence at the ceremony.
"We keep the tradition of the D-Day memorial service alive because of the significance of the battle itself, and the importance of our country's participation in the operation that resulted in the turning point of WWII," read a statement from the service's program.
