The Town of Preeceville sent three councillors and its administrator to the Saskatchewan Urban Municipality Association (SUMA) convention held on February 1 to 5 in Regina, and they admitted to coming away with mixed feelings.

The annual Week of Prayer for Christian Unity Ecumenical Service was held on January 26 at Trinity United Church in Preeceville. The service was sponsored by the Preeceville and District Ministerial Association.

Due to the rain and icy roads on January 25, the Preeceville Pats midget and bantam hockey teams were unable to play at Canora Minor Hockey day and had rescheduled the games for January 30 at the Canora Civic Arena.

I have always been impressed with the Malanka celebration. Impressed because it seems the Ukrainian people have gone to great effort over the years in preserving their culture.

Canora Minor Hockey Day was held on January 25, giving local minor hockey players an opportunity to play in front of family, friends and fans from Canora and the surrounding area. Unfortunately, the day did not go exactly as planned.

The snowmobile season has had snowmobilers hitting the snow for a while but the trails were not officially groomed.

The snowmobile safety training course will focus on better preparing younger snowmobilers to become more safety minded and responsible riders.
