Half a millennium to the day, on October 31, 1517, an Augustinian friar, Dr. Martin Luther, nailed his 95 theses to the door of the Castle Church, or 鈥淪chlosskirche,鈥� in Wittenberg Germany.

During Education Week (October 16 to 20) students and staff at the Preeceville School were acknowledged for all their hard work. This year, the theme of Education Week focused on 鈥淏uilding Our Future by Learning together.

The 1, 2, 3 Care For Me Daycare in Sturgis hosted its Terry Fox Run on September 28. Children and helpers canvassed the Town of Sturgis businesses and along with random donations they raised $671.

Descendants of William and Flora Smith gathered to celebrate a Century Farm Award in Hazel Dell on October 8with family, friends, and neighbours.

The Sturgis Composite School invited special guests, board members and Good Spirit School Division administrative members to join the students and staff in officially opening the newly-renovated school on October 20.

Eleven Sturgis Composite School cross-country athletes did well with placing in the top 10 of their age categories at the Cherrydale district cross-country meet held in Yorkton on October 6.
