The Sturgis Open bonspiel hosted eight teams from January 15 to 19. "With a small number of entries we decided that it would only be for fun with no prizes awarded," said Tyler Blender, president of the Sturgis Curling rink.

Angelina Sorgen of Preeceville is preparing to experience a once in a life time trip when she will travel to Uganda, Africa for mission work through Touch Ministries. Sorgen is schedule to leave January 20 and arrive back on February 5.

Mischief RCMP members are investigating a mischief occurrence that happened at a land location north of Sturgis. A truck was shot through the windshield causing both the windshield and back window to be damaged.
