LAKE DIEFENBAKER - The province's most important body of water is also a prime destination for fishing enthusiasts at this time of the year.

In selecting the local favorite of many in this regional area, the lake had to meet a host of criteria in order to be picked as a top fishing spot, including the quality of the fish species, variety, accessibility, surroundings, as well as other recreational opportunities. Diefenbaker also managed to stand out from many locations for having a large number of entry points, boat launches, and campgrounds, with the surroundings being described as "vast and open", helping to give the lake a "serene and peaceful" quality.
In addition, electing a certain location as a prime fishing spot isn't based solely on one opinion, as FishingBooker collected data and information from the provincial government by way of tourism boards, customer feedback and reviews, and fishing regulations.
