I want to say a public thank-you to the emails of support I got from last week's column concerning the overkill traffic blitz that was held in Yorkton a couple of weeks ago. A few people asked if I was sour because I, in fact, got a ticket. No.

To suggest that the federal Conservative government are taking its rural Saskatchewan base for granted might be seen by some as a tad unfair.

Dear Editor: The Federal Government is attacking democracy in Canada. Farmers lost the Wheat Pool a few years ago. Its demise was brought about by legislation that killed the Crow Rate.

Somehow the Brad Wall government seems to be sending mixed message through its recent provincial budget. On the one hand there is the anticipated everything is wonderful rhetoric associated with most budgets.

For some, there's never a great time to revisit an unpopular idea ... or so the Saskatchewan Chamber of Commerce may soon find out if it pushes its idea of municipal amalgamation much further.
