Usually, my column is about random topics where I try to polarize the readers by making them agree with me whole heartedly or disagree with me to the point that you may believe I'm completely nuts.

While researching any genealogy, it is important to remember that you are searching beyond just your family name; you are also looking for locations. The names of various towns carry an interesting history all their own.

Silos are tumbling, and trees are toppling. Flooded crops, washed out roads, downed city signs, and snapped limbs abound across Saskatchewan. Tornadoes have touched down, roofs have lost shingles, barns have lost roofs.

When we go for walks, I always admire the beautiful "flowerbeds" that we see in many yards. What I really like is the way the beds are done up, especially with the nice stone or concrete borders.
