By way of an obituary in the Saskatoon Star Phoenix, notice has been received of the passing of Gwen (nee Heuser) Dingwall on Feb. 28, 2012 at the age of 82. Gwen came to Dubuc when her husband, Rev.

Laketown Leaders sponsor monthly Pot Luck Luncheons and the next one is Mon., April 16. The monthly bingo will be Thurs., April 26 at 1:30 p.m. Saltcoats United Church Easter worship is at 9:00 a.m. on April 8.

The monthly community birthday party was held at the Hut on March 28. A good turnout enjoyed the afternoon. There was a lovely lunch including a tasty birthday cake.

Well, as our 4-H year progresses, our excitement and achievement builds. This month has been the one that most 4-H members dread (but with preparation and perseverance), and can excel at the Public Speaking Month.

The Legion had a poetry writing contest in November 2011, Renee Walker placed 3rd in the intermediate category and Melanie McDermott placed 2nd in the junior category.

Skate Esterhazy celebrated 50 Years of Favourites in Esterhazy. The show featured skaters from today and yesterday.

The Calder Yalenka Dance Club went to Kamsack to dance at the Eaglestone Lodge and the Kamsack District Nursing Home. The Calder Yalenka Dance Club enjoyed dancing for the seniors.

Hilltop Curling Club sponsored a Strong Man Competition March 3 There were 16 teams of 2 persons each with several attending from Dubuc to join in the fun. Each team played at least 2 games and up to 4 games apiece.

Congratulations to Brooklynn Kraft and Michael Desjarlais of Melville on the birth of their daughter, Marlaina Rose Desjarlais. Marlaina was born on Nov. 21, 2011.

Feb. 16 Don & Glenda Bell left on a 5 day road trip to Saskatoon & points beyond.They visited with grandaughter Cailee Bell who is attending U of S & Don's cousin Alice (Ekdahl) & husband Swen Garvik.
