YORKTON - MR MIKES Day is happening across Canada on Oct. 20 with individual locations giving back to local food charities in support of youth.

The Canadian restaurant franchise, has announced that locations across the country will be holding a day of appreciation, celebration, and giving back. On Oct. 20, they will host the first MR MIKES Day, dedicated to honouring the hard work of its team members and recognizing the communities they are proud to be a part of.

Throughout the day, guests visiting MR MIKES locations can make a difference by adding a donation of their choice to their bill. The donation will be directed to the local food-related charity in support of youth around the country.

In Yorkton donations will be directed to the Breakfast Club of Canada.

“With inflation on the rise and increasing food and housing costs, the country’s food banks have watched the need for their goods increase as the organizations enter what, for many, is a critical time of year for fundraising,” detailed a release.

MR MIKES has teamed up with five different food-related charities across Canada to help support youth hunger across the country

“We are very excited to be hosting our first MR MIKES day on October 20,” said Taili Coates, vice president of marketing for MR MIKES in the release. “As a restaurant brand with values of belonging and community, aligning with a local food-related charity was important for us. Hunger is happening right here in Canada and it can make anyone experiencing it feel very vulnerable, especially children. Our guests know they are supporting youth in need and benefiting those living in every MR MIKES community by directly supporting their local charity.”
