PREECEVILLE - The Town of Preeceville released a statement on Feb. 15 that after a main-line water break along the highway on the west side of Preeceville, the town maintenance crew was forced to temporarily shut off water service to the residents.
The break had residents and visitors who travelled through the town detouring around the work area. The water break was located and has since been repaired.
As a precautionary measure, the town released another statement, issuing a Precautionary Drinking Water Advisory. The advisory applies to residents and users of the Town of Preeceville water distribution system and went into effect as of Feb. 15 at 1 p.m.
Among several points, the advisory directs residents to boil water used for drinking or that might be ingested in any other way, such as brushing teeth or washing dishes, for a least a minute.
