SASKATOON – A man who was wanted by police for assault with a weapon was granted bail in Saskatoon Provincial Court today.
Ryan Mattock, 41, was released on no-cash bail but given conditions including that he stay away from Wanuskewin Heritage Park. He was also ordered not to possess weapons or drive a vehicle.
Police had issued a warrant for Mattock on Aug. 20 and released his photo. They arrested him in North Battleford without incident.
According to Warman/Martensville RCMP, they responded to a complaint on Aug. 16 of an assault that occurred at the Wanuskewin Heritage Park on Penner Road northeast of Saskatoon. Police allege that Mattock entered the building and became involved in a verbal confrontation with staff, committed an assault and made threats.
Two days later, the same RCMP detachment responded to a complaint of an incident on 71st Street north of Saskatoon. Police say that a white and an orange SUV were stopped at a red light when a verbal confrontation occurred between the people in the two vehicles and the white SUV backed into the orange SUV.
Mattock was charged with assault with a weapon, two counts of assault, four counts of uttering threats, one count of uttering threats to burn property, two counts of dangerous driving, and mischief.
Mattock appears next in Saskatoon Provincial Court on Oct. 26.
