Lintlaw Wildlife hands out awards to deserving hunters

The Lintlaw Timberline branch of the Saskatchewan Wildlife Federation hosted its annual awards and banquet.

LINTLAW - The Lintlaw Timberline branch of the Saskatchewan Wildlife Federation hosted its annual awards and banquet at the Lintlaw Community Hall on Jan. 25.

Dillion Lindhom, president, presented the awards in large game, bear, and fish categories.

Zander Neitling received an award for his white-tailed deer that scored 152 and 0/8; Barry Engdahl received a white-tailed deer award for his entry that scored 142 and 5/8, he also received the moose award for his entry that scored 125 and 1/8; Dean Bocking received the typical mule deer award for his entry, 158 and 1/8; Merlin Alberts won the black bear award for his entry that scored 20 and 1/16, and Mathew Davis was presented with the elk award with a score of 225 and 6/8.

In the fish category, Robert Murray received the Northern Pike Award for his fish that weighed 34.5 lbs; Shelly Mills received the walleye award, 29 lbs; Hunter Lindholm received the youth walleye award, 15.5 lbs; Rowan and Marea Jankowski won for youth northern pike, 27.5 lbs. and Marea Jankowski received the youth perch award, 10.5 cm.

Cierra Bocking was presented with the best trail camera photograph award and Rowan Jankowski was presented with the award for best photograph. Graham Pottle won the Hatson .22 rifle drawn.

Kristin Lindholm was responsible for the slide presentation.

“We would like to thank everyone who attended and supported our club,” said Lisa Brownlee, club representative. “The club is currently working with the Preeceville and Sturgis Wildlife branches in a revitalization project for Schutte Lake.”

The evening featured bucket draws, door prizes and basket draws, concluding with a dance.
