Co-op equity days benefit everyone

Gateway Co-op gives back to its patronage through barbecue equity days held in Sturgis and Preeceville.

PREECEVILLE - The Gateway Co-op hosted its equity days during the week of May 21 to May 24.

The first one was hosted in Canora on May 21 with the proceeds from the non-profit barbeque going towards the Canora Pickleball community. The second one was held in Sturgis with proceeds from the barbecue allotted to the Stenen Recreation Board; the third one was held in Buchanan with proceeds going to the Performing Arts Leisure Society and the last one was held in Preeceville on May 24 with proceeds from the barbecue going towards the Preeceville Hall renovations.

Heather Prestie, financial, Andrew Rothnie, Food Division Manager and Brad Chambers, CEO were on hand to distribute equity cheques to patrons.

As s result of our tremendous member support the Gateway Co-op had another successful year, stated a release. This success has permitted the Board of Directors to authorize an allocation of over $1,021,000 to its members. Each member is credited with an allocation based on their purchases. The allocation is a percentage of your purchases that ranges anywhere from 0.5 per cent to 6 per cent.
