The body of a Keeseekoose First Nation man was discovered in a vehicle in a field several days after the man鈥檚 death.

On August 24, Kamsack RCMP were notified by a landowner in their detachment area that a vehicle had been located in one of the landowner鈥檚 fields and a deceased individual was inside, according to a release issued Friday by the RCMP.

The initial investigation revealed that the car was reported stolen to Kamsack RCMP on August 15, the release said. The deceased driver attempted to cross the field and hit a dry ravine, colliding with the ravine wall.

鈥淚t is believed the vehicle was in the field for 10 days before the landowner observed it,鈥 the release said. The identity of the driver was unknown at the time and no one was reported missing to Kamsack RCMP matching the description of the individual.

The Office of the Chief Coroner conducted an autopsy on August 27, it said. The deceased individual has been identified as a 22-year-old male from Keeseekoose First Nation.

His family has been notified of his death, it said. His name will not be released by RCMP.

The incident is not considered suspicious in nature and police do not believe any additional individuals are involved.
