The Ministry of Environment will be assisting commercial outfitting operations facing financial challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic for the coming year.

The Yorkton RCMP is investigating an occurrence from April 2 within Yorkton. The suspect is described as male, approximately 18 -25 years old, average height and build and with a medium complexion.

The Kinsmen Club of Yorkton surprised a local town with a donation to help them with a massive upcoming project. The club donated $50,000 to the Town of Canora to replace their current swimming pool.

On March 23, at 11:38am two male subjects and a female subject entered a business on Hamilton Road in Yorkton, SK. Video surveillance captured one male subject switching his jacket and pants in the men’s wear section.

A local senior’s home gave its residents a little pick me up late last week. The Bently Retirement Home hosted a drive-true, in partnership with the local Dairy Queen, to give its residents some ice cream.

The Government of Saskatchewan is looking to ‘Protect, Build, and Grow’ with their latest budget unveiled last week. The province is forecasting $14.4 billion in revenue, an increase of 829 million compared to last year.

The Yorkton & District Community Foundation (YDCF) held its first annual general meeting on March 25, a virtual meeting attended by 38 persons.

For the last four decades, one group has passed down stories and helped fill out family trees in Yorkton. That group is the Yorkton Genealogy Society. The society started back in 1981 after a group of residents were curious about their family's past.
