RCMP Report: Mikado break-in, numerous items stolen

The Canora/Sturgis RCMP investigated a report of a break-and-enter at a residence in Mikado. Numerous items were stolen from inside the residence including a crossbow and a pellet gun.

Canora/Sturgis RCMP responded to 55 calls from June 8 to June 15, including an assault complaint in Canora. Police investigated the incident, and arrested and charged a male with assault.

CANORA / STURGIS — The Canora/Sturgis RCMP responded to 55 calls from June 8 to June 15, some of which included: five 911 Act calls, one animal call, three assaults, one breach of peace, two break-and-enters, one false alarm, one Firearms Act call, two frauds, one harassing communications, one Mental Health Act call, one mischief, five other provincial calls, one theft, 16 traffic offenses, four suspicious persons, one theft of a truck, two uttering threats, four wellbeing checks, two Trespassing Act calls, and one prisoner.

Assault investigation

On June 6, the Canora/Sturgis RCMP investigated a report of an assault that occurred in Sturgis. Police continue to investigate.

Assault arrest

The Canora/Sturgis RCMP were dispatched on June 10 to an assault complaint in Canora. Police investigated the incident, and arrested and charged a male with assault.

Break-in and theft

The Canora/Sturgis RCMP investigated a report of a break-and-enter at a residence in Mikado on June 11. Numerous items were stolen from inside the residence including a crossbow and a pellet gun. Police continue to investigate.

Mysterious gun shot

On June 11, the Canora/Sturgis RCMP were dispatched to a report of a gunshot heard in Buchanan. Police attended and patrolled the area but there was no reports of injuries or property damage. 

So much yelling

The Canora/Sturgis RCMP were dispatched on June 11 to a disturbance inside a residence in Canora. Police attended the call and learned that the caller was reporting that his current and ex-girlfriend were both yelling at him and giving him a hard time and wanted them to stop. Police investigated the report and determined no offence was committed but alcohol was a contributing factor. 

Break-in attempt

On June 12, the Canora/Sturgis RCMP investigated a report of a break-and-enter attempt at a residence on the 800 block of Fourth Street Â鶹ÊÓƵ in Canora. Police located a broken lock and ripped screen door. Police continue to investigate.
