Pastor Mavis Watson gave the blessing to the graduates, reminding them that “God wants to be part of your life.”

CANORA - Pastor Mavis Watson was asked to bring the blessing for the 2023 graduation, and told them, “It is my sincere honour to be with you this afternoon to celebrate your accomplishments and to imagine with you, what’s next?

“Today, you stand at the crossroads between your youth and adulthood, between possibility and promise,” said Watson. “What excitement to know that your future is being written not by some unseen hand, but by you and the choices you will make.

“You are the authors of your own destiny! There are so many paths that you can take, but which one is the right one for you? Well.... that is where God comes in! From the first moment of your creation, He has been working in the background of your life.

“Psalm 139 tells us that He has been helping you, and guiding you in all that you have done, even to this very day. And He will continue alongside of you, to the end of your days. God desires that you would come to know Him; as a Friend, Your Father, and a constant Companion.”

Watson went on to remind the graduates that, “you are never alone. God wants to be a part of your life, and a part of your choices as you move forward.”

She then shared a prayer of blessing over the graduates:

“Lord, You see every detail of our lives. You can see ahead and you know the best path to take. If we will let You, You will help us to choose the best one as we move forward. I pray that You will help these graduates to choose the right vocation for them, the perfectly- tailored future that is custom designed and fit for each one of them. And if they will ask, you will help them through the difficult seasons, and celebrate their wins.

"The light is green for them Lord. May they enjoy more good days than bad, more happy ones than sad. And may they live lives that suffer few regrets. And when they need help, You will always be there , they have only to ask. In Jesus Name, amen.

“Congratulations Class of 2023,” concluded Watson. “Go make a difference!”
