Helen Row Toews / Freelance Author and Writer

Helen Row Toews is an author and humorist, works as an EA and school bus driver, and carries a license to drive anything on wheels. She grew up and still resides on the family farm near Marshall, Sask., where Charolais cattle and gophers flourish (the latter being purely coincidental and highly unappreciated). She’s been blessed with four grown children and two grandchildren that bring her endless joy.
To help her write, Helen has three cats and a friendly German shepherd. However, this means that while she enjoys constant companionship, she vacuums the equivalent of one cat worth of fur per week.
Helen loves the prairies and its people. She feels privileged to entertain and bring her readers a smile with her columns and books entitled Prairie Wool. She’s also written a fantasy series for young adults called Runestaff Chronicles. To contact Helen or check out these books, please go to helentoews.com.
