Youth charged over stabbing incident in Regina

The incident occurred on Friday at the 1800 block of Osler Street.

REGINA - The Regina Police Service has arrested a male following a stabbing on Friday in downtown Regina.

At approximately 8:40 p.m. on Oct. 18, police were called to a business at the 1800 block of Osler Street for a report of a weapons offence. A victim at the address had been stabbed outside the front doors of the building.

Police attended to the victim, who described the suspect. The next day, police located a young male matching the suspect's description around 11th Avenue and Halifax Street. Police arrested the suspect, and a search of the male-led to a knife being discovered.

A 17-year-old youth was charged and taken into custody. Under the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA), the suspect's name cannot be revealed.

He has been charged with:

  • Assault with a Weapon [CC 267(A)]
  • Fail to Comply with Disposition [YCJA 137]

The suspect made his first appearance in Youth Provincial Court on Monday.
