Sentencing date set for man convicted of abducting daughter

In January of 2022, Saskatchewan RCMP issued a Canada-wide arrest warrant for Jackson, after he was charged with Abduction in Contravention of a Custody or Parenting Order.

REGINA - Sentencing submissions have been entered, in the case of a Carievale man found guilty of abducting his seven-year-old daughter, to prevent her from getting a COVID-19 vaccination.

Michael Gordon Jackson, 55, appeared in Regina Court of King’s Bench Oct. 21 where the matter was adjourned for the judge’s decision on Dec. 6.

Mounties located Jackson and his daughter in Vernon, B.C., over a month later.
