The partnership between Regina and SGI started in 1988.

To celebrate New Year's Eve, the City of Regina, in partnership with SGI, is offering free service on their transit.

On Dec. 31, 2024, buses in Regina will be free between the hours of 7:00 p.m. until the early morning hours of Jan. 1 at 2:00 a.m. Normally, Regina Transit charges $3.25 for people 18 or older for a single ride fare, while youth between the ages of 14 and 18 are charged $2.75 for the same fare.

The free rides let people who are intoxicated get home in a safe manner.
