Country Thunder: Tenille Arts gets 'em dancing despite the heat

Tenille Arts was born and raised in the town of Weyburn and discovered her passion for music at a young age.

CRAVEN - It was on a warm evening July 12 that Tenille Arts performed in front of several thousand Country Thunder Music Festival-goers.

The latter took advantage of this visibility to sing extracts from her fourth and new album To Be Honest.

To the delight of festival-goers, the artist from Weyburn performed her big hit Somebody Like That. In April 2021, this song reached number one on the Mediabase Country Aircheck chart in the United States. This gave the young singer the first number one for a Canadian artist since Emerson Drive's Moments in 2007.

Towards the end of the show, which lasted almost 60 minutes, Tenille Arts performed songs from her favourite artists. '' I'm going to share with you some songs that I listened to growing up, and I'm sure that you did too ‘’. Oops I did it again by Britney Spears was part of the lot, alongside songs by Shania Twain and many others.

 

An appearance at the artist showcase

The artist was part of the cohort of four at the SaskArtists showcase tent on July 12 alongside Quinton Blair, Jarrid Lee and Chris Henderson . An intimate moment with a few festival-goers. Due to the heat, it was almost unbearable to stay under the tent for a long time. Despite this the artist gave a generous acoustic performance with the other musicians.

 

The Rise of Tenille Arts

Tenille's debut single, "I Hate This," released in 2016, quickly gained traction on country radio stations and introduced her to a wider audience. The song's raw emotion and relatable lyrics struck a chord with listeners, establishing Tenille as a promising new talent in the country music landscape.
