An end-by-end look at the game between Canada's Brad Jacobs and Norway's Marcus Ramsfjell

Eighth end: Canada lays three with two in four foot and another in eight foot at Kennedy’s last shot, nice touch tap back to sit full eight foot and lay four. Ramsfjell draws to top four foot. Jacobs makes nice takeout to once again lay four. Ramsfjell makes takeout to sit top edge button. Jacobs hits and sticks to sit four, with two rocks at top edge of four foot. Ramsfjell attempts takeout to score one but gets disaster intead, as his shooter spills out and leaves Canada laying two. Handshakes.

Seventh end: Canada lays four all over house at Jacobs’ first shot, with two under full guard in eight foot and four foot. Jacobs draws full back eight foot. Ramsfjell attempts to draw freeze to Canada rock at side of four foot but touches rock in front to sit wide open top four foot. Jacobs wrecks on guard in rarest of mistakes. Ramsfjell attempts light touch tap back but comes up light, and there’s a measurement with two rocks touching outside edge of four foot. Canada gets steal of one.

Sixth end: Canada lays two in 12 foot side by side, Norway has one behind cover in 12 foot on other side of house at Ramsfjell’s first shot. Ramsfjell draws back four foot behind one of Canada’s 12-foot stones. Jacobs freezes to that rock in the four foot behind long centreline guard. Ramsfjell shows nice touch on hit to make double. Norway sitting shot at edge of eight foot behind cover, Canada second shot in 12 foot. Jacobs attempts touch tap out but catches guard, settles for one.

Fifth end: Norway lays one behind cover at edge of 12 foot at skips stones, Jacobs hits and rolls out. Ramsfjell draws behind cover to full 12 foot at edge of house above t-line. Jacobs freezes to that rock to sit shot. Ramsfjell draws four foot for one.

Fourth end: Cluttered house again at skip’s stones. Ramsfjell hits and sits on button with first shot, Canada has two stones as second and third shot at edge of four foot. Jacobs taps Norway's previous shot back to sit top four foot and lay three. Ramsfjell attempts hit but just grazes, leaving Canada counting two at edge of four foot. Jacobs draws to button for three. After curling 99 per cent against Italy last night, Jacobs is at 100 per cent through four ends this morning.

Third end: At skip’s stones, Canada laying two full four foot and top edge eight foot, with Norway third and fourth shot top of 12 foot. Jacobs doubles off Norway stones at top of house to lay three. Ramsfjell hit attempt appears to pick and ends up going through house. Jacobs draws top eight foot to lay four. Ramsfjell draws full four foot with backing for one.

Second end: Gallant makes nice double with first shot to clear out a couple Norway stones in house. Gallant and Kennedy each just miss runback doubles later in end, but still get one. Kennedy just skirts guard with draw and sits on button with Norway backing in four foot, partially covered. Ramsfjell taps back to sit top button, Canada back button, two Norway stone on either side of four foot. Jacobs taps back Norway previous shot, Canada sitting first and second shot top and back button. Ramsfjell draws to edge of button for second shot. Jacobs taps back own stone at top button for one.

First end: Norway has hammer to start. Relatively clean end up to Kennedy’s final shot, draw port and hits to sit one back eight foot behind cover. Sesaker attempts to follow down and wrecks in front, spilling Canada guard to top eight foot. Jacobs draws full top four foot behind cover. Ramsfjell attempts to follow down and also wrecks but spills shooter into side 12 foot for third shot. Jacobs throws centreline guard. Ramsfjell comes around for tap back to score one. Good start for Canada.

The marathon continues! Things don’t get any easier, either, as Canada’s Brad Jacobs has a team right behind them in the standings in Norway’s Magnus Ramsfjell. Jacobs comes into the contest at 5-1 and in second place, Ramsjfell is 4-2 and in a three-way tie for fourth -- and were part of the five-way tie for first yesterday. Should be an interesting one!
