33 years of showcasing artisan work in Assiniboia

Vendors showcase their work Prince of Wales Cultural and Recreation Centre.

ASSINIBOIA — Assiniboia’s Mistletoe Arts and Craft Sale takes place Nov. 1 and 2. The longevity of this seasonal event is due to a combination of the teamwork of the Assiniboia and District Arts Council and the vendors who showcase their work. The inaugural Christmas-themed event was held in 1991. This year’s event marks 33 years in the community.

“There will be a variety of mediums and products for all ages to view and purchase,” committee member, Allison Lewis, says.

“It is a wonderful opportunity to view, shop and support Saskatchewan craftspeople/artists.”

Held at the Prince of Wales Cultural and Recreation Centre, this central hub of the community is an excellent location to host 37 vendors who will be showcasing a large variety of items.

“The Mistletoe Arts and Craft Sale is the Assiniboia and District Arts Council’s major fundraiser for the year. Monies raised from door admission go towards arts-related programming throughout the community for all ages,” adds Lewis.

The holiday celebration offers Saskatchewan arts and crafts and a concession on-site, door prizes, a basket raffle, free movies for kids starting at 10 a.m. and photos with Santa.
