William August Kosior


William August "Willie" Kosior, born near Griffin, on April 3, 1927, formerly of Griffin, Fillmore, Kenosee Lake and Weyburn, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 29, 2012 in Weyburn at the age of 85 years. He was predeceased by his parents Pete and Mary Kosior; wife Ivadelle on June 7, 2012; infant daughter Mary; and brothers Teddy, Dell and Edwin. Willie will be lovingly remembered by his daughter Carol (Ron) Hunter, granddaughter Adrienne (Chris) Simonson and great grandsons Kelton and Cooper, and granddaughter Alexis Hunter; son Dwight (Lee) Kosior, grandson Ben Kosior (Kari Murray) and granddaughter Regan Kosior; daughter Patti Kosior (Rod Jones); son David (Peggy) Kosior and grandsons Devon Kosior (Bailey Oberg), Kelvin Kosior, and Barrett Kosior; special nephew Doug (Debbie) Kosior, Kaila, Sean, and Alyssa; brother Alex; sisters-in-law Gloria, Helen, Thelma and Sharon; as well as numerous extended family and friends. Willie started his working years in Ontario for a couple years and then returned home. He married Ivadelle on July 30, 1952, living in Griffin and then in 1961 established their family farm, south of Fillmore. Willie was actively involved in the grain industry. He continually pursued his love of curling. In his heart, Willie never retired from farming, but he and Ivadelle retired to Kenosee Lake where he enjoyed golfing and curling and then moved to Weyburn. Prayers were held at St. Vincent de Paul Roman Catholic Church, 314 3rd Street NE, Weyburn, on Thursday, July 5, at 7:00 p.m. Funeral mass was held at St. Vincent de Paul Roman Catholic Church on Friday, July 6, at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend Gerry Bauche celebrant. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Willie may be made to the Fillmore Union Health Centre, 100 Main Street, Fillmore, SK S0G 1N0.
