Wildred "Eugene" Price passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at the age of 68 years. Eugene was predeceased by parents, Wilfred and Margaret Price and his sister, Marleen LaRone. Eugene was born to Wilfred and Margaret on January 2, 1946 at Weyburn and had four siblings. He grew up in Weyburn and attended, St. Dominic Savio School, St. Micheal's Junior High School and the Weyburn Comprehensive School. After leaving school, Eugene worked at Canada Wire & Cable for several years then discovered an interest in carpentry and soon became a journeyman carpenter. This was his career for many years and it took him to both Calgary and Saskatoon, but he eventually settled in Weyburn and stayed for his remaining years. He worked as a caretaker at the Weyburn Comprehensive and in retirement at Hilltop Manor. On February 24, 1968 he married Marlene and together they raised two daughters. During his life Eugene was involved with the Royal Canadian Legion and Elks. As well he offered his support with maintenance to baseball in Weyburn over the years. Eugene enjoyed gardening, camping with his family, watching western movies and always working with wood. He enjoyed many camping and fishing trips with his family and friends. Eugene was patient, kind and helpful to anyone who needed it, he will be greatly missed. Eugene will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Marlene Price of Weyburn; daughters, Gina (Evert) Foster of Raymond, AB and their twin daughters, Elissa and Jessica; daughter, Monique (Darren) Raknerud of Lacombe, AB and their children, Trystan and Morgan; brother in law, Ronald (Estelle) LaRone of Lake Cowichan, BC; sister, Darlene (Bill) Myers of Duncan, BC; sister, Linda (Chris) McLean of Charlotte Lake, BC; brother, Myron (Patti) Price of Weyburn as well as many nieces, nephews and good friends. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Saturday, September 13 at 1:00 pm from St. Vincent de Paul Roman Catholic Church with Father Gerry Bauche celebrating. Interment followed at Hillcrest Cemetery, Weyburn. Donations in memory of Eugene may be made to STARS Air Ambulance and the Weyburn & District Hospital Foundation.
