Violet "Vi" Marie Newett, late of Weyburn passed away Mondaym November 5, 2012, at the age of 84 years. Vi was predeceased by her parents, Mary and Lorne Harper; husband, Mel Newett; two daughters: Rhonda Lenius and Diana Myhra; grandson, Brian Braithwaite; granddaughter, Tammy Lenius; sisters: Marguerite and Evelyn; brothers: Bill, Wes and Cliff. Vi is survived by her children: Linda (Don) Braithwaite, Edmonton, AB and their daughter Krista, Norma (Kelly) Cochrane, Calgary, AB and their children: Tina, Amanda and Sean, Velda (Dave) Dickie, Edmonton, AB and their children: Jason, Shawn and Kelly, Gloria (Dennis) Lenius, Hanley, SK and their children: BJ, Tiffany and Levi, Ron Newett, Weyburn and his son Brady; foster son, Ed (Mary) Tardiff, Swift Current; sons-in-law: Lynn Myhra, Calgary and sons, Trevor and Chad, Don Lenius, Stoughton and his children: Travis and Kara; 18 great grandchildren; sisters: Eileen (Norman) Slimmon, Shirley (Rick) Jarrett; brother George (Alice) Harper; sisters-in-law, as well as several nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service for Vi was held on Saturday, November 10 at 2:00 p.m. from Creelman United Church, Creelman with Rev. Ann White, officiating. Interment followed at Golden Gates Cemetery, Creelman.
