Vern Woitas passed away on March 18, 2013 in Innisfail at the age of 74. He is survived by his loving wife, Darlene Woitas; children Darren Woitas, Barbara Dolynchuk, Sheila Woitas (Bob), Timothy Woitas (Lenore) and Melanie Woitas and grandchildren Tyler and Kristen Woitas, Jordon and Calum Magico, Taylor and Tamryn Woitas; numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by parents, Pauline and Peter Woitas; brother Lorne Woitas. Vernon was born in Estevan and grew up in Lake Alma. Married in 1960 and relocated to Alberta with family in 1971. Vern worked as a Pipeline Technician for (Producer's Pipeline/Dome Petroleum/Amaco/BP); from 1956 until his retirement in 1994. He continued to contract for them until 2004. Vern had a passion for hunting, fishing, curling, gardening and landscaping. A Funeral Mass of Vern's life was celebrated at the St. Mathew Roman Catholic Church, Rocky Mountain House on Friday, March 22 at 2:00 PM. As an expression of sympathy memorial donations may be made in Vern's name to Parkinson's Society Canada; 4211 Yonge Street, Suite 316 Toronto, Ontario M2P 2A9, or the charity of the donor's choice.
