Sharon Slimmon, late of Stoughton passed away November 8, 2012, at the age of 66 years. Sharon was predeceased by her parents, Leah and Wilfred Osborne; her brother, Calvin Osborne; nephews: Gregory Osborne and Danny Osborne, great niece, Amanda Osborne; brothers-in-law: Dale Hughes and Wes Veer. Sharon is survived by her husband, Dale Slimmon, Stoughton; her children: Kevin (Pam) Slimmon, Stoughton, and their children: Jill Young [Austin and Justin], Kellee and Tyler; Karen (Bill) Vollbrecht, Weyburn, and their children: Derek and Wyatt; siblings: Gordon (Ada) Osborne, Lampman, Phyllis (Alvin) Dehneke, Weyburn, Ted (Eva) Osborne, Mississauga, ON, Gwen Veer, Stoughton, sister-in-law, Lorraine Wyatt, Estevan, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Sharon was born on January 24, 1946 in a log cabin NE of Kelvington. She was the youngest of six children, three girls and three boys. Sharon married Dale Slimmon on July 13, 1964 in Cordalaine, Idaho. Many happy times were enjoyed camping, fishing and traveling with Dale, her children and later with her grandchildren. She loved to tell everyone about the grandchildren in a visit and show all her pictures of them. Sharon enjoyed curling with her friends; they attended many bonspiels and had loads of fun. She played baseball and later helped coach her daughters teams, many miles were driven to hockey games for her son. Sharon was an active member of the Rebekahs which she enjoyed very much. She was a member of the United Church and a volunteer in the communities of Stoughton, Heward and Creelman for many different functions. Sharon loved to have her garden filled with flowers and all different lights. Winters were spent traveling south which was always looked forward to once the cold weather was getting close each winter. Family holidays were always looked forward to, filling the house with food and cheer. Sharon has touched many lives, family and friends alike and will be sadly missed. Her memory will be cherished but not forgotten. A Service of Remembrance for Sharon was held on Tuesday, November 13 at 2:00 p.m. from Grace United Church, Stoughton with Elizabeth Goodson, officiating. Interment to follow at a later date. For family and friends so wishing, in lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Sharon may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Saskatchewan, 279-3rd Avenue N, Saskatoon, SK S7K 2H8 or Canadian Diabetes Association, 917 A. Albert Street, Regina, SK S4R 2P6. Arrangements were entrusted to RD Family Funeral Chapel & Crematorium, Weyburn (848-0333 ~ 1-888-848-0333).
