Ruth Joan Boychuk, late of Weyburn, passed away January 23, 2014, at the age of 66 years. Ruth was predeceased by her parents: Grace and Charles Brydges and her husband Lawrence Boychuk. Ruth is survived by her two sons: John (Cindy) Boychuk, Weyburn, Eric Boychuk, Canora as well as her siblings, cousins and many close friends. Ruth was born on April 1, 1947. Her early years were spent in Flin Flon, Manitoba. Ruth and her mother moved to Regina about 1954. After high school Ruth took up Psychiatric Nursing in Weyburn and worked at Souris Valley. She met Lawrence Boychuk in Regina and they were married in 1966. Ruth graduated as an RN in 1991. She continued nursing at Souris Valley until her retirement in 2005. Ruth loved the outdoors, especially the north, fishing, camping and the cabin near McBride Lake. She had many interests, gardening, nature, flowers, birds, cooking and photography. She had a great respect for the environment. Ruth was at the fore front when computers were introduced. She enjoyed doing research and would always find interesting points to share with others. Friends and family remember her great sense of humor. Ruth loved her quiet time, a cup of tea and music in the background. Ruth always expressed concern for others. She reached out to friends and family with a card or letter containing a message of appreciation, encouragement and upbuilding scriptures. Ruth had an exceptional interest in the Bible and the hope it held out for mankind. She was introduced to Jehovah's Witnesses as a little girl in Flin Flon, Manitoba. Ruth's faith gave her strength and comfort as her health failed in recent years. A service of remembrance for Ruth was held on Monday, January 27 at 2:00 p.m. from the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Weyburn, with Arnold Kozak, officiating. Lunch followed the service at the Wheatland Seniors Centre, Weyburn. Interment to be held at a later date.
