Russ Borrowman late of Weyburn passed away August 10, 2012 at the age of 77 years. Gordon Russell Borrowman was born on March 13, 1935 on the family farm in Lomond municipality. Russ was the oldest son of Elmer and Mable Borrowman, and brother of Lloyd and Gerald. His primary education was at Delight School but was cut short by rheumatic fever. Much of his recuperative time was spent fishing in Roughbark Creek. He worked with his father on the family farm and spent a great deal of time caring for his youngest brother. He was an active member of the Lomond 4-H Club and spent much time caring for the farm animals, including his pony "Cheetah." Russ had a life of contentment. He loved the music of Johnny Cash and Don Messer's Jubilee. He loved to read, especially the works of Jim Michener. He worked as a service technician at Elmer's Service where his work ethic was very evident. When there was fun Russ was always included and he loved a practical joke. He leaves to mourn his brothers, Lloyd and Gerald; aunts, Alma Straub (High River, AB), Viola (Les) Beard (Kelvington); many cousins, and close friends, Curtis Garner, Lila Wycotte, Linda Sealy and her children, Shelly, Kelly, and John. A graveside service was held Wednesday, August 15 at 2:00 P.M. from Green Acres Memorial Gardens, Weyburn with Pastor Martin Olson officiating.
