With deep sadness and a heavy heart, the family of Rodger Sobush, announce his passing suddenly on June 3, 2012 in Edson, Alberta. Rodger was 56 years old. Left to treasure his memory, is his loving family; Rodger's wife, Shirley and their family, Martin Sobush (Mellissa Colbert) of Abbotsford, British Columbia, Candice (Ted) Whyte of Edson, Alberta, Jennifer Chouinard of Edmonton, Alberta, Shelly Chouinard of Edson, Alberta, Brenda Sobush (Sheldon Ma) of Edmonton, Alberta and Spencer (Melanie) Meek of Red Deer, Alberta. Rodger is survived by his 10 grandchildren, his mother, Katherine (Larry) Sape of Edson, Alberta, two sisters, Mary-Lou (Kurt) Petersen of Stony Plain, Alberta, Linda (Kevin) Pal of Spruce Grove, Alberta and numerous other relatives and many treasured friends. Rodger was predeceased by his father Edward Sobush. Memorial services for Rodger were held on Saturday, June 9 at 2:00 pm at the Royal Canadian Legion in Edson, Alberta with a luncheon that followed at the Legion Hall. In keeping with his wishes, Rodgers cremated remains will be placed with his father, later this year, in Midale.
