Ralph Henry Redding

With heavy hearts we announce Ralph's passing on April 19, 2013, with his family by his side, in Grand Forks, BC. A part of each of us went with him. Ralph was diagnosed with brain/lung cancer in January. His family at that time decided to surprise him with a birthday celebration for his 62 years, and surrounded him with family and friends. Ralph was born February 12, 1951, the fifth child of Richard and Electa (Bartlett) Redding. Ralph was raised in Whitecourt, AB, Tyvan and Riceton. He was always full of mischief, and he loved fun. He was so fun to be with, always teasing his siblings. He loved to hunt, and he loved a party with friends and family. He especially loved his family. He met his wife Melody (of 41 years) in Chilliwack, BC. For a short time they lived in Saskatchewan, and then settled at Buffalo Ridge, North Forks Valley, Grand Forks, BC. He leaves to mourn his wife Melody; son Joshua (Erin Olsen); daughter Deidre (Andy Eyles); his precious grandkids, Gavin, Alannah, Meaghan; his siblings Rick, Neva, Mollyann, Tom, Francy, Eileen and their families; mother-in-law Dorothy Knopp, the Knopps, Olsens, and Eyles, also Redding, Barlett and Hansen cousins. Ralph was predeceased by his parents, father-in-law Pete Knopp, niece Celene, sister-in-law Nancy, and 'lil brother Allan. When Allan passed away in 2008, Ralph and Melody left a sandblasted monument on the North Forks Road in his memory. Ralph lived his life exactly the way he wanted to. Ralph and Melody had a home like no other that welcomed everyone they knew. Ralph and Melody were very creative. Ralph spent many hours with Joshua and Gavin hunting, fishing and building. Ralph had a very special relationship with his daughter-in-law, Erin, who gives so much to her family. We will miss him, his humour, generosity, and especially the twinkle in his eyes. Ralph said, "See you in the future!" King Ralph's Motto "BYOB". Special thanks to the Boundary Hospital and Dr. Coleshill. Memorial pending.
