Phyllis Eileen Bloor was born September 28, 1922, eldest daughter of Horace and Lillian Butler. She grew up on farms in the Range View and Oungre districts with her sister, Audrey, and brothers, Roy and Rod, and attended school there. After various employments, Phyllis married Lawrence Bloor on October 30, 1940, at the United Church manse in Estevan.聽 They resided in the Oungre area until April, 1953, when they purchased land in the Velhaven district, near Beaubier. Together, they raised a family of four sons and two daughters. Phyllis found satisfaction in her role as homemaker and helper on the farm. Lawrence passed away on March 28, 1981. The following year, Phyllis and Jo-Ann, moved to Weyburn, and Kevin and Bernice moved to the farm. Phyllis was actively involved with the United Church in Oungre and later in Weyburn. She enjoyed baking 鈥渇avourites鈥 for family members and friends, reading, embroidery and gardening. Dancing, singing with various groups in Weyburn, and listening to her music lifted her spirits throughout her life. Phyllis was closely connected to her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, and always kept up to date with their activities. She also maintained a close connection with her Butler family, as well as Lawrence鈥檚 family. Sending birthday cards or making phone calls was a priority. There was always a warm welcome for anyone who joined the family. Phyllis valued her friendships and kept in touch through visits, cards or phone calls. During her life, Phyllis experienced times of joy and times of sorrow, and we will miss her smile and caring ways.
