Pansy Lillian Erick, late of Weyburn, passed away December 13, 2013, at the age of 86 years. Pansy was predeceased by her husband Matthew; parents James and Janet Povey; son David Erick; brother Don Povey. Pansy is survived by her children: Doreen (Calvin) Goski and their family Shannon, Stefonia, Weyburn; daughter-in-law Marlene Erick and her family Garrett, Daris, Melville; Brian (Julie) Erick and their family Tanya, Kelly, Regina; Joyce (Randy) Haider and their family Dustin, Regan, Chantal, Moose Jaw; Calvin (Angie) Erick and their family Andrew, Amanda, Saskatoon; Louise (Murray) Martin and their family Thomas, Natasha, Weyburn; five great-grandchildren brothers and sisters: Fred (Dorothy) Povey, Effie (Ken) Dyer, Gwen (Tom) East, Lois (Ben) Ruth, Nina (Don) Macknak; along with numerous nieces and nephews. Pansy was born on September 9, 1927 in Lafleche. She completed Grade 12 and continued her education and received her teaching certificate. She married Matthew Erick on August 15, 1949 and together they had six children Doreen, David, Brian, Joyce, Calvin and Louise. Some of her favorite pastimes included reading, crossword puzzles, crocheting, knitting and gardening. It gave her great joy to spend time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. A funeral service for Pansy was held on Wednesday, December 18 at 2:00 pm from Grace United Church, Weyburn with Rev, M. Barnabas, officiating. Interment followed at Hillcrest Cemetery, Weyburn. Lunch followed the interment at Upper Grace Hall. Honorary pallbearers were all in attendance. Pallbearers were Pansy's grandsons: Dustin Haider, Thomas Martin, Daris Erick, Garrett Erick, Kelly Erick and Andrew Erick. For family and friends so wishing, donations in memory of Pansy may be made to Canadian Diabetes Association 917 A. Albert Street, Regina, SK, S4R 2P6. Arrangements were entrusted to RD Family Funeral Chapel & Crematorium, Weyburn (306-848-0333 ~ 1-888-848-0333).
