Mona, late of Fillmore, passed away on Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at the age of 64 years. Predeceased by her mother, Marguerite Heidinger; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins, she is survived by her loving husband, Calder (whom she married in 1969); daughter Colleen; daughter Melodi Hawkesford-Lee (Keith); father Bill Heidinger; sister Marilyn Jenkins (Eric); brother Harold Heidinger (Dona); plus nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews. Mona was born and raised in Lampman, where she received her grade schooling and a Grade Eight certificate in piano. She received a B.Ed from the University of Regina and taught at schools in Regina, Edmonton, Fillmore and Griffin. Other than raising her family and teaching, Mona's main interests were gardening, raising fabulous flowers, golfing, traveling, and playing piano. She was loved and respected by all. The family would like to thank the staff at both the General and Pasqua Hospitals, who tenderly cared for her. "Good night sweet princess, and flights of angels sing thee to thy rest." Funeral service was held at Grace United Church, Fillmore, on Friday, June 22, at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Ann White officiating.
