Mervin Emil Forseth passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 2. He was predeceased by his parents, Emil and Gertrude Forseth; brother, Howard Forseth; aunt Alma; nephew, Dwayne and uncles, Arthur and Mike. Mervin was born to Emil and Gertrude on October 7, 1938 at Weyburn. He was raised on a farm in the Rural Municipality of Bengough and took his schooling at the Desmond School. Over his lifetime, Mervin worked at various occupations, from railroad to farm labourer and for the Wood Mountain Provincial Park before returning to the farm. He continued to farm until his retirement in 2003. In August of 1958, Mervin married Viola Thompson and together they raised a family of five children. Mervin loved hunting and farming the most. In his youth he was quite musically involved and enjoyed playing the guitar and singing. Mervin loved his family and enjoyed having his children and grandchildren around him as much as possible. He will be dearly missed. Mervin will be remembered by his wife of 56 years, Viola of Bengough; sons, Rick (Kerry) of Regina, Gary (Cindy) of Bengough, Lyndon (Kelly) of Weyburn, and Lynell (Melinda) of Slave Lake, AB; daughter Lana Forseth (Gary Hinderks) of Balgonie; grandchildren, Curtis, Steven, Dustin, Haley and Becky; great granddaughter, Lily; aunt Edith Rosenzwieg; sister-in-law, Bette Forseth, as well as other relatives and friends. A graveside service and interment was held on Friday, November 7 at 1:00 pm at Bengough Cemetery, Bengough. Pallbearers were Curtis Forseth, Steven Forseth, Dustin Forseth, Garry Hinderks, Ron Henry and Michael Rosenzwieg.
