She is predeceased by her parents, Fredrick and Edith Yates; husband, Louis Carles; brothers, Fred (Vera) Yates, Tom (Mary) Yates, Harry Yates, Frank Yates and her sisters, Beatrice (Phil) Dufresne and Nettie (Tom) Young. Marj was born May 18, 1922 at Chamberlain, SK, the fourth child of Fredrick and Edith. She grew up with her seven siblings on the family farm in the Chamberlain area. She also enjoyed gardening, playing cards, reading and treasure hunting. Marj spent many hours making rugs and quilts. Marj took great pride in 鈥渢aking a sow鈥檚 ear and turning it into a silk purse.鈥 She had an appreciation for nature; a gift that she passed on to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Marj appreciated the small things in life, whether it be pointing out a beautiful bird or picking up the pretty rocks on the beach. Marj was a people person. She was always interested in people鈥檚 stories and how their lives unfolded. She would ask lots of questions and listen intently and remember the details.聽 For our family, she was the 鈥済lue鈥.
